The Golden Bridge Child Migration from Scotland to Canada 1869–1939

In front of the War Memorial and Bethesda

The War Memorial is created within the stone arch retrieved from the entrance to the close in Cross Shore Street, Greenock where William Quarrier was born, at the time that the close was demolished. The memorial to the fallen service men of the First World War who were former boys and girls was created in 1929 on the centenary of William Quarrier's birth. The memorial to those who were former boys and girls and fell in the Second World War was subsequently added.
