All home children over the age of twelve were registered and the farmer or other employer was required to sign a form of indenture. In this it stated that if the child had to be returned to Quarriers, then “the clothes must be sent back in good condition and the same number.” It also stipulated that “an accurate account to be kept by employer of the wages spent in child’s clothing.”
